I encourage my visitors to lock their computers. Security, after all, is everyone’s business. But often gentle encouragement is not enough. Sometimes, more persuasive methods are necessary.

The quickest way to lock your computer screen is to just use the Win+L keyboard shortcut. Some people prefer to use the mouse to lock the workstation, however, or would just like to have both options.

Here’s how to easily create a shortcut to lock Windows 7, Vista, or even Windows XP as well.

Right-click wherever you want to create the shortcut, choose New, and then Shortcut.

2. Enter the following text into the shortcut textbox. Note that the screen will look different on Windows XP, but the same text should work.

Reaching for the mouse can be an annoying disturbance and personally I often turn over my mouse in such situations. An easy solution is to simply keep the hands on the keyboard and complete as many tasks as possible with keyboard shortcuts only.

Apart from making you work more efficiently and faster, you can also impress your friends or colleagues by being able to work without a mouse.

1. AERO SHORTCUTS

Aero Peek : [Windows] + [Spacebar] => Makes all windows transparent to view gadgets and icons on desktop.

Aero Peek : [Windows] + [D] => Show or hide the desktop.

Aero Shake : [Windows]+[Home]=> Minimize all but selected window. Reverse by clicking the key combination again.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + right arrow (or) [Windows] + left arrow => Dock selected window to the left or right half of your screen.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + up arrow (or) [Windows] + down arrow => Maximized and restores the selected window.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + [SHIFT] + up arrow (or) [Windows] + [SHIFT] + down arrow => Maximizes and restores selected window in vertical dimension only.

[Alt] + [Ctrl] + [Tag] + left/right/up/down arrow => Flip window.

[Alt] + [Tab] => Cycle through open windows.

[Windows] + [T] OR [Windows] + [SHIFT] + [T] =>Move focus to front or back of taskbar. Press [T] again while holding the [Windows] key to cycle through items in the taskbar from left to right or, with [SHIFT] button held too, from right to left.

[Windows] + [B] => Puts focus on the ‘show hidden icons’ button on the system tray.

[Windows] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [9] => Launch first through ninth icon on taskbar, including items pinned to taskbar.

[Windows] + [SHIFT] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [SHIFT] + [9] => Starts new instance of respective taskbar icon.

[Windows] + [Ctrl] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [Ctrl] + [9] => Cycles through multiple instances of the respective icon.

Sometimes it so happens that, you are in search of any software or files like doc or pdf, and come across Forums, where members of that forum post replies to that post. But the problem is, you will not be able to see the post or sometimes you won’t be able to see the contents of the forum. The forum ask you to register and then view the posts.

Whenever you need any information for which you are eager to know about and then Forum will ask you to register and login and then only you will be able to see the contents. You will probably find some another alternative rather than registering (then let it be free!) to any website. After registering, there is no guarantee to get complete and correct information so, why not try to get in and browse everything without registering?

BROWSE ANY FORUM WITHOUT REGISTERING (GOOGLE BOT):

Tricks to CLEAN your RAM using NOTEPAD!!!

Clean your RAM

RAM – Random Access Memory is one of the main component of computer that is responsible for the process of the operating system. Since all the Operating systems support Multiprocessing, hence require a good RAM speed.

Since all the current running processes are stored onto the RAM, it slows the system speed. Sometimes the process which have executed but are not required by the OS are stored on the RAM. So, we can remove or freeup the RAM with unused junk data to Speedup the System or processing speed.

We can clean the RAM just by using a Notepad application. This does not require any advanced software.

The process to do so is as follows.

Open Notepad

1. Type

FreeMem=Space(64000000)

2. Save it as “CleanRAM.vbs” on desktop

Note: Type the name of file along with inverted commas

3. Run the file and your RAM may be free.

Of course you can edit the code in the file for a greater “cleaning-progress”.

For example:

FreeMem=Space(1280000000)
FreeMem=Space(2560000000)
FreeMem=Space(5120000000)
FreeMem=Space(10240000000)

Trick to INSTAL WINDOWS XP within 15 minutes!!!

Now, this tip will be very helpful for those who frequently install windows xp operating system. Normally OS installation takes around 40 minutes to complete, but through this trick you can now save 10-15 minutes.

This simple tricks goes this way.

1. Boot through Windows XP CD.

2. After all the files are completely loaded, you get the option to select the partition. Select “c”.

3. Now Format the partition, whether it is normal or quick with NTFS or FAT

4. Once the formatting is completed, All the setup files required for installation are copied. Restart your system by pressing Enter.

Now, here begins the Simple trick to save 10-15 minutes.

5. After rebooting, you get a screen where it takes 40 minutes to complete or finalize the OS installation.

6. Now, Press SHIFT + F10 Key -> This opens command prompt.

7. Enter “Taskmgr” at the command prompt window. This will open Task Manager.

8. Click the Process Tab, here we find a process called Setup.exe -> Right Click on Setup.exe -> Set Priority -> Select High or Above Normal.

Initially it will be Normal.

Thats it, no more work to do. Relax your self and see how fast the installation process completes

Tricks to INCREASE your RAM (COMPUTER) speed !!!

Everybody is be aware that INCREASING the RAM speed would INCREASE your system speed.

The following simple tricks would Virtually increase the RAM speed indirectly increasing your Computer Speed.

1). Start any application, say Word. Open some large documents.

2). Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Windows Task Manager and click Processes tab and sort the list in descending order on Mem Usage. You will notice that WINWORD.EXE will be somewhere at the top, using multiple MBs of memory.

3). Now switch to Word and simply minimize it. (Don’t use the Minimize All Windows option of the task bar)

4). Now go back to the Windows Task Manager and see where WINWORD.EXE is listed. Most probably you will not find it at the top. You will typically have to scroll to the bottom of the list to find Word. Now check out the amount of RAM it is using. Surprised? The memory utilization has reduced by a huge amount.

5). Minimize each application that you are currently not working on by clicking on the Minimize button & you can increase the amount of available RAM by a substantial margin. Depending upon the number and type of applications you use together, the difference can be as much as 50 percent of extra RAM.

In any multitasking system, minimizing an application means that it won’t be utilized by the user right now. Therefore, the OS automatically makes the application use virtual memory & keeps bare minimum amounts of the code in physical RAM.

Have you ever wanted to hide folders in your phone? If yes,there here is very interesting solution for you to hide folders in your phone and you don’t even need any software for that.

This trick can be used for any JAVA phone from Nokia,Samsung,Motorola,LG or any other company.

JUST FOLLOW SIMPLE STEPS

Create any new folder or you can use any existing folder that is to be hidden.
Rename the folder to any name but with the extension of .jad like if I want to hide my images folder then I will name it as IMG.jad
Now create a new folder with the same name in the same directory but with the extension of .jar So, I would create the folder with the name IMG.jar
And thats it!! My orignal images folder which has been renamed with .jad gets hidden and only folder with.jar extension is visible which is empty.So,my data is protected/hidden from unwanted eyes.

PS:

To unhide the orignal folder you have to remove the .jar extension from the new folder and your orignal folder with all the files and with .jad will become visible.
