Trick to lock your Computer Screen in WIN7

I encourage my visitors to lock their computers. Security, after all, is everyone’s business. But often gentle encouragement is not enough. Sometimes, more persuasive methods are necessary.

The quickest way to lock your computer screen is to just use the Win+L keyboard shortcut. Some people prefer to use the mouse to lock the workstation, however, or would just like to have both options.

Here’s how to easily create a shortcut to lock Windows 7, Vista, or even Windows XP as well.

Right-click wherever you want to create the shortcut, choose New, and then Shortcut.

2. Enter the following text into the shortcut textbox. Note that the screen will look different on Windows XP, but the same text should work.

rundll32.exe user32.dll, LockWorkStation

Name the Shortcut

3. Enter a name for the shortcut, and then click Finish. That’s about all there is to it.

Anyone working professionally with a computer has their hands on the keyboard most of the time. Reaching for the mouse can be an annoying disturbance and personally I often turn over my mouse in such situations. An easy solution is to simply keep the hands on the keyboard and complete as many tasks as possible with keyboard shortcuts only.

Apart from making you work more efficiently and faster, you can also impress your friends or colleagues by being able to work without a mouse.

1. AERO SHORTCUTS

Aero Peek : [Windows] + [Spacebar] => Makes all windows transparent to view gadgets and icons on desktop.

Aero Peek : [Windows] + [D] => Show or hide the desktop.

Aero Shake : [Windows]+[Home]=> Minimize all but selected window. Reverse by clicking the key combination again.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + right arrow (or) [Windows] + left arrow => Dock selected window to the left or right half of your screen.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + up arrow (or) [Windows] + down arrow => Maximized and restores the selected window.

Aero Snap : [Windows] + [SHIFT] + up arrow (or) [Windows] + [SHIFT] + down arrow => Maximizes and restores selected window in vertical dimension only.

Aero Flip : [Windows] + [Tab] => Launch 3D representation of open windows and click [Tab] key again to flip through them.

2.WINDOWS & TASKBAR SHORTCUTS

[Alt] + [Ctrl] + [Tag] + left/right/up/down arrow => Flip window.

[Alt] + [Tab] => Cycle through open windows.

[Windows] + [T] OR [Windows] + [SHIFT] + [T] =>Move focus to front or back of taskbar. Press [T] again while holding the [Windows] key to cycle through items in the taskbar from left to right or, with [SHIFT] button held too, from right to left.

[Windows] + [B] => Puts focus on the ‘show hidden icons’ button on the system tray.

[Windows] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [9] => Launch first through ninth icon on taskbar, including items pinned to taskbar.

[Windows] + [SHIFT] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [SHIFT] + [9] => Starts new instance of respective taskbar icon.

[Windows] + [Ctrl] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [Ctrl] + [9] => Cycles through multiple instances of the respective icon.

[Windows] + [Alt] + [1] THROUGH [Windows] + [Alt] + [9] => Opens jump list for respective icon.

3. MULTIPLE MONITOR SHORTCUTS

Windows] + [SHIFT] + right arrow OR [Windows] + [SHIFT] + left arrow =>Move selected window from one monitor to another. They will remain in the same relative location.

[Windows] + [P] => Select presentation display mode.

4. MAGNIFIER SHORTCUTS

[Windows] + [+] OR [Windows] + [-] => Activates Windows Magnifier to zoom in or out of screen.

[Ctrl] + [Alt] + [D] => Switch to docked mode.

[Ctrl] + [Alt] + [L] => Switch to lense mode.

[Ctrl] + [Alt] + [F] => Switch from docked or lens mode back to full screen mode.

[Ctrl] + [Alt] + [I] => Invert colors.

[Windows] + [Esc] => Exit magnifier views.

[Windows] + [G] => Cycle through desktop gadgets.

[Windows] + [X] => Launches Windows Mobility Center. Especially useful if you’re working on a laptop.

Trick to INSTAL WINDOWS XP within 15 minutes!!!

Now, this tip will be very helpful for those who frequently install windows xp operating system. Normally OS installation takes around 40 minutes to complete, but through this trick you can now save 10-15 minutes.

This simple tricks goes this way.

1. Boot through Windows XP CD.

2. After all the files are completely loaded, you get the option to select the partition. Select “c”.

3. Now Format the partition, whether it is normal or quick with NTFS or FAT

4. Once the formatting is completed, All the setup files required for installation are copied. Restart your system by pressing Enter.

Now, here begins the Simple trick to save 10-15 minutes.

5. After rebooting, you get a screen where it takes 40 minutes to complete or finalize the OS installation.

6. Now, Press SHIFT + F10 Key -> This opens command prompt.

7. Enter “Taskmgr” at the command prompt window. This will open Task Manager.

8. Click the Process Tab, here we find a process called Setup.exe -> Right Click on Setup.exe -> Set Priority -> Select High or Above Normal.

Initially it will be Normal.

Thats it, no more work to do. Relax your self and see how fast the installation process completes

Tricks to INCREASE your RAM (COMPUTER) speed !!!

Everybody is be aware that INCREASING the RAM speed would INCREASE your system speed.

The following simple tricks would Virtually increase the RAM speed indirectly increasing your Computer Speed.

1). Start any application, say Word. Open some large documents.

2). Press CTRL+SHIFT+ESC to open Windows Task Manager and click Processes tab and sort the list in descending order on Mem Usage. You will notice that WINWORD.EXE will be somewhere at the top, using multiple MBs of memory.

3). Now switch to Word and simply minimize it. (Don’t use the Minimize All Windows option of the task bar)

4). Now go back to the Windows Task Manager and see where WINWORD.EXE is listed. Most probably you will not find it at the top. You will typically have to scroll to the bottom of the list to find Word. Now check out the amount of RAM it is using. Surprised? The memory utilization has reduced by a huge amount.

5). Minimize each application that you are currently not working on by clicking on the Minimize button & you can increase the amount of available RAM by a substantial margin. Depending upon the number and type of applications you use together, the difference can be as much as 50 percent of extra RAM.

Increase in RAM speed

In any multitasking system, minimizing an application means that it won’t be utilized by the user right now. Therefore, the OS automatically makes the application use virtual memory & keeps bare minimum amounts of the code in physical RAM.

Solving The View Folder Options Problem

things you’ll need:

Latest Visual C++ redistributable package
Registry cleaner software

Steps to follow :

Click the “Start” Button, type “MSCONFIG” in the search bar and press “Enter.”
Click on the “Services” tab, check the “Hide All Microsoft Services” box and choose the “Disable All” option.
Choose the “Startup” tab and click on the “Disable All” option, then click “OK.”
Restart your computer.
Test for system messages once the computer has restarted. If the “System Configuration Utility” window pops up, click on “Don’t show this message,” then click on “OK.”
Run MSCONFIG again, enabling each program, one at a time, to check for errors until the problem application has been found.

4. In Internet Option click on Advanced tab

5. Check the box “Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering”

6. Click Apply button

7. Restart PC

This browser is installed as a Windows update and incorrect or corrupted installation may lead to crashing issues. In sever cases you can uninstall the browser to reinstall it again. The process to uninstall it is a little different as compared which is given here:
